NEW, Free Motion Quilting with Westalee Rulers,  Monthly Program

Come in learn how to free motion quilt using the Westalee rulers and specialty free motion foot.  We will quilt one block each month using a ruler from he basic template set.  You will be able to make perfect circles on your quilts and other shapes with the templates.  We will also be demonstrating new templates.  If you are unsure, sign up for one class and give it a try (limited space on shop machine).  Class Date:   GROUP SESSION, Wednesday, May 23, June 20, July 18, August 22;  10AM-2PM;  GROUP SESSION 2, Saturday,  May 5, June 2, July 21, August 23rd;  9:30AM-12:30PM;       Class Fee:  $18.00  (3  months/$45.00}

Stitcher's Garden,   Sewing Machine Applique BOM 

This is a BOM designed to teach you to use the feet and decorative stitches in your machine to create these beautiful applique blocks.  What a great way to become more familiar with your sewing machine.  Classes will be held monthly and we will be offering 2 sessions.  Fee:  Class one:  $45.00 (includes 5 yds background fabric and month 1 pattern).  $10.00 monthly for 11 months thereafter. Because this is an ongoing class, you may  join at any month and begin from there.   Date: Thursday, May 17, June 14, August 16th;  10AM-12PM

SEW/EMBROIDER with Us:  Fridays are our open sew/embroider days.  Sit and sew/ embroider at the shop from 10AM-3PM.  Bring in your sewing/embroidery machine to work on those unfinished projects and chat with other sewers and quilters.    Date:  Fridays, 10AM-3PM  (11AM-3PM on First Friday Demo Dates)  

 First Friday Demo:  On the first Friday of the month  we will be presenting a short demo featuring a new ruler, pattern, technique or notion.  After the demo you are invited to stay for open sew.  We will be taking a break for the summer and begin again in September.Class Dates:  June 1, 10AM-11PM   Fee: No charge (please call or email  to register).  Previous Demo samples below.

 Design a Block with Premier+2, Premier+ or 6D Software:  Learn some of the features of your embroidery software while creating a block that may be used as a pillow front or in a quilt top.  You will go home with a finished block design to stitch.  If you are interested in purchasing  software this would be a good class to see it's features.  Class Dates:  Thursday,May 24, June 21, July 19 and August 23rd,   6PM-8PM  Class Fee: $18.00/class

Sewing/Quilting Classes

Machine Basics:  Do you need to brush up on sewing machine tecqnique or get more comfortable with your machine?  Learn the ins and outs of your machine, sewing a button hole, a blind hem, sew on buttons and more. Thursday,May 31st,  10AM-1PM  Class fee:  $20.00 (kit included)

 Machine Technique: Creative Icon, Vision, Sensation, Sensation Pro, Sensation Pro 2: Work with som of the specialty techniques that are in the sewing mode of your machine, tapering, specialty stitches, stitch creator and more   Class date:  Wednesday, May 30th;  10AM-2PM  Class fee:  $20.00 (Includes materials)

Scarlet Velvet Quilt (all levels of quilters)   This is the perfect quilt to use a large theme print fabric.  The quilt with borders is 58 x 72 inches.  We will use a flip and sew construction method so your quilt will be complete except for the binding when you are finished with the construction.  Class Date:  Wednesday, June 13, 27, July 11,July 25th:  10AM-1PM,  Class fee: $40.00(includes pattern)   Use your imagination for the fabrics 

Rockport Carryall:  Make this bag in a large size for your class sewing  supplies  or your knitting or anything else your need.  Large, 18w x 12d x 16h; medium, 13w x 9d x 11h.  Use a large decorative print, digital scene or any other fabric of your choice and quilt it on foam batting to give the bag stability.  Date:  August 15th, 10AM-2PM  Fee: $25.00  (includes pattern)

Machine Hoop Embroidery and Software

Anita's Express, Shrinky Bag  Use your embroidery machine to make this zippered bag using heat and shrink fabric added to the embroidery.  Apply the zipper and construct the bag in the hoop.. Cute Mother,s Day gift.   Class date: Thursday, May 10th; 10AM-1PM  or 6PM-8:30PM  Class Fee:  $30.00 (includes kit and design package)  

Precise Positioning  Embroidery with your Creative Icon, Vision,Sensation, Sensation Pro, Sensation Pro 2, Creative 4.5: Learn accurate design positioning with your machine. Has your fabric popped out of the hoop in the middle of your embroidery?  Don't throw it out, we will teach your how to find the correct position and line the design up so you can finish it. Learn how to put multiple designs together with multiple hoopings.      Class date:  Wednesday, May 16th, 10AM-2PM Class Fee:  $20.00  (includes materials)

Edge to Edge Quilting with Machine Embroidery:  Learn how to quilt with your embroidery machine.  You will quilt a small one color throw in class to become familiar with the technique. Add a binding on th completed piece and you will have a cute little quilt.. If you have a small quilted piece ready, we will give you the measurements and you may use it for class.  Class Date:  Wednesday, June 6th; 10AM-3pm  Class fee:  $25.00

Machine Embroidered Hawaiian Quilt Block:  Apply precise positioning on your Pfaff Embroidery Machine to create this block as one unit.  The original design was created with 4 separate blocks and stitching them together, but this will be done without seams. Date:  Thursday, June 7th, 10AM-2PM  Fee:  $20.00 (includes design)

 Free Form Table Runner in the Hoop:  This is a quick in the hoop project that you can make using scraps of fabric(groups of 3:  4.5 x 12, 5 x 12, 3.5 x 12 inches to make a block section).  the size of the runner may easily be adjusted by the number of blocks embroidered Date:  August 1, 10AM-2PM   Fee:  $30.00 (includes design from Sweet Pea Embroidery)

Cross Body Bag in the hoop with Scalloped Cork Flap:This is a cute little cross body bag that will finish at either 5 x 7 or 6 x 10.  The outer pocket is covered with a cork scalloped  flap and the bag has a zipper closure inserted in the embroidery hoop.  Date:  Thursday, August 9th, 10AM-2PM  Fee:  $30.00 (includes design CD and cork fabric)

Since we are a creative classroom, we will be open to suggestions.  If you have 2 or more people in any of your sewing groups and have particular project in mind, give us a call and we would be happy to set up a date for you.  We will do classes for 2 or more children (or teenagers) and can work with your schedules.  Private lessons on machines, embroidery software, sewing or quilting are available.  Karen has been trained extensively on Pfaff and Viking sewing machines and software.  We hope to see all of you in a class.  Feel free to stop in and visit.  Our class list will be continually updated and we will be bringing in some more fabrics.  Check our site and feel free to email or call us
